Forklift course in the Brenner Base Tunnel — training on site

Bildungszentrum Logistik was able to hold a forklift course directly on Europe’s largest construction site, the Brenner Base Tunnel.

The Brenner Base Tunnel is being built between Austria and Italy beneath the Brenner Pass. Including the Innsbruck bypass, at 64 kilometres it will be the longest underground railway connection in the world. The project is intended to shorten travel times and freight transport between northern and southern Europe and to reduce lorry traffic on the Brenner motorway.

Training underground

In the middle of the tunnel complex — the entire system measures over 230 kilometres — we adapted our practical content to the conditions on site. The course showed that our training works anywhere, in the classroom as well as directly at the place of work.

The forklift course paved the way for further training at the site: crane operator training, C95 further training and other courses are following directly on site.
